About the conservancy
Bryce Canyon Conservancy is an independent Utah nonprofit, incorporated September 29, 2026. We make free tools for understanding Bryce and are preparing to protect and care for land around the park.
Mission
Our working mission is to advance understanding and stewardship of Bryce Canyon and its surrounding landscapes through free public education, useful science, and voluntary land conservation.
The 3D model of the amphitheater, the geology field notes and the Hoodoo app in development bring visitor learning forward now. Land protection, careful field observations and local stewardship remain central to the longer-term work. The corporation is established; land rights and field programs are still in preparation.
The founder
Founder Chase Kaczmarek brings a technical background and a willingness to devote substantial time to field operations, maintenance, and long-term stewardship.
The intended contribution is hands-on: keep equipment working, preserve trustworthy records, build accessible tools, and help sustain the land’s care. Independent directors, qualified scientists, local knowledge, and experienced conservation specialists would help guide the work.
Other organizations
Bryce Canyon Association is an established park and forest partner whose work includes support for wildlife studies. BCC hopes to complement existing work through surrounding private-land stewardship and dependable field observations.
Wildlands Network’s regional fence research offers a useful model for connecting a question with practical conservation. BCC has no established partnership with Bryce Canyon Association, Wildlands Network or the National Park Service. Any future collaboration would need a shared purpose and the other organization’s agreement.
Governance
Bryce Canyon Conservancy was incorporated in Utah on September 29, 2026, as entity 14743439-0140. The proposed governance model includes an independent board, conflicts review, financial controls, scientific independence, and a succession plan. Director appointments and adoption of governance remain to be completed; federal tax exemption has not been recognized.
